Partnership Details

This nearly $2 billion purchase agreement was approved by the New Hanover County Commission last October after more than a year of public evaluation. This deal also comes with future capital investment commitments and arrangements for a collaboration between UNC’s medical program and NHRMC. February 1st, 2021 was the first official day of the partnership between Novant Health and NHRMC. This new partnership will bring even higher quality services and access to affordable health care to those in need. New branding is soon to come as well.

The Future of HealthCare in Our Region

Novant health is a not-for-profit healthcare system that operates multiple health care facilities across North and South Carolina, Georgia and Virginia. As the Novant Health website states, they are committed to affordability and access, pandemic readiness, academic excellence, community and health equity, technology and innovation and safety and quality. On top of partnering up with NHRMC, they have also teamed up with UNC Health and UNC School of Medicine. This will bring new opportunities to the New Hanover region such as education, pediatric care and research.
