John rejoined Maus, Warwick, Matthews & Co. in April 2026 after spending 1.5 years as a Land Acquisition Manager with Forestar Group, a national residential lot development company. In this role, he sourced and evaluated development opportunities across coastal North Carolina and South Carolina, working closely with engineers, municipalities, and internal development teams to analyze feasibility, manage due diligence, navigate entitlement and phasing strategies, and negotiate acquisitions.

Prior to his time in development, John built a strong foundation in commercial brokerage during five years with MWM, where he focused on site selection, land transactions, and investment sales. His experience on both the acquisition and brokerage sides of the business gives him valuable insight into how developers, investors, and property owners evaluate opportunities and structure successful deals.

John holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Leadership and Management from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and an associate degree in Fire Protection Technology from Cape Fear Community College. John is currently pursuing the CCIM designation.

In his free time, John enjoys fishing, diving, camping, working out, running, and spending time with friends and family.
