Holiday Shows
A Very Merry Mayfaire Christmas by the Opera House Theatre Company
Opera House Theatre Company hosts “A Very Merry Mayfaire Christmas” in the Mayfaire Town Center on December 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th. Performing in this show is Wilmington-based Broadway vet Brian Whitted, “Piano Man”s Nygel Robinson, former Miss North Carolina, Beth Stoval and local theater vets Jason Aycock and Bradley Barefoot.
The Great Wilmington Nutcracker
US International Ballet and The Wilmington Ballet Company present The Great Wilmington Nutcracker live at the Wilson Center on December 18th and 19th. This is a festive show that is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit!
Every Christmas Story Ever Told
Three actors team up to tell you literally every Christmas story ever told! This show will be held at Thalian Hall in the Ruth and Bucky Stein Studio Theatre from December 9th-19th on Thursday-Saturday at 7:30pm, with some Sunday matinees.
Local Events
The Cape Fear Festival of Trees is a favorite tradition in the Wilmington area. This festival is held at the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher from November 26th until January 3rd. Admission to the aquarium will get you in to see a beautiful Christmas forest throughout the exhibits.
Come see the annual Holiday Parade in Downtown Wilmington on Sunday, December 12th at 5:55pm.
Holiday Event @ Live Oak Bank Pavillion
Head over to the Live Oak Bank Pavillion on Saturday, December 18th for Christmas fun with the whole family. Santa will be there and there will be a showing of the movie “Elf”.
Three Ladies in Wilmington present the Ugly Sweater Party at Palate Bottle Shop and Garden on December 18th at 9pm. The winner with the ugliest sweater will win a bottle!
Elf Trivia at New Anthem Beer Project
Are you a fan of the movie “Elf” and looking to get into the holiday spirit? Register for the “Elf” trivia night hosted at New Anthem Beer Project on December 22 at 7pm. There will be 5 rounds of festive trivia!
Holiday Markets
Come see what local artists and vendors have for you this holiday season at the Holiday Craft Market. This market is on December 9th from 9am-3pm at 224 Market Street in Downtown Wilmington.
Head over to the Mayfaire Town Center for their Holiday Market Extravaganza. This will be a day of spirited shopping with local vendors, artists and giveaways. The market is from 10am-7pm on December 11th.
